The Maine Center for Academic Excellence offers academic support in all areas of education including reading, writing, math and content areas. We provide support for work that is already being done in school, or we can design an individual course for your learner based on his or her needs. The teachers at MCAE will work directly with your student's teacher to provide a seamless bridge from school to tutoring to home.
Academic tutoring goes beyond the ABC's and 123's. We also focus on study skills, organizational skills and positive behaviors for success in school.
Tutoring sessions are $25/hour payable in advance.
Occasionally we will offer highly targeted courses which will be designed to increase a specific skill. For example, we may offer a 4-day course on subtraction with re-grouping designed to polish off this sometimes difficult skill or perhaps a 4-day course on character traits in reading.... Courses such as these will be offered at one low rate, payable in advance and will include a syllabus, practice activities and a take-home study guide and progress note at the completion of the course.
